Signpost Album Discography
By David Edwards, Patrice Eyries, and Mike Callahan
Last update: February 20, 2000

The Signpost label was distributed by Atlantic, then later by MCA. The biggest success for the label was Danny O'Keefe, a singer/guitarist/songwriter from Spokane, Washington. He registered a huge hit in 1972 with "Good Time Charlie's Got the Blues." Almost overlooked on his first album is a melancholy look at life as a touring musician called "The Road," a song which Jackson Browne did a few years later on his Running on Empty album. It stands the test of time as one of the best "Road Songs" ever written.

The Signpost label was black with silver printing. "SIGNPOST" in white above the center hole, above this is a yellow block with a red "S".
