Alarm was division of Sound City Recording, located in Shreveport, Louisiana. The only album release was a Ted Taylor disc. They were one of the many independent record labels distributed by TK Productions. They released about two dozen singles, including six by Ted Taylor and two more by the Taylors. Other artists on the label included Jim Lawrence, Adolph & the Entertainers, Eddie Giles, Reuben Bell, Truman Lankford, Ray Crumley, and the Freedom Machine. The only chart record was Ted Taylor's "Steal Away" [Alarm 112], which reached #64 on the R&B charts in June, 1976.

The Alarm label was white with black lettering and "Alarm" written in black lettering on the top half of the label. The following text is written in the form of an arc at the bottom of the album label: "DISTRIBUTED BY: T.K. PRODUCTIONS, INC. 495 S.E. 10th COURT, HIALEAH, FLORIDA 33010". The single label was similar, but the legend around the bottom of the label was, "A Division of Sound City Recording 3316 Line Ave Shreveport, La. 71834 318-861-0589".
