20th Century Fox Album Discography, Part 2
TCM 3100/SFX 4100 Series

By David Edwards, Patrice Eyries and Mike Callahan
Last update: February 8, 2006

The TFM 3100 (mono)/TFS 4100 (stereo) Series was the main series from 1963, when the label changed its name from 20th Fox to 20th Century Fox, until it went inactive in the late 1960s. The label was black with a gold band around it. At first, there was white lettering in the gold band. Later after ABC took over distribution in 1966, the white lettering was changed to grey. The ABC-distributed albums had a small ABC logo on the cover and said "Distributed by ABC Records, Inc." on the bottom of the label.

TFM 3100/TFS 4100 Series:

TFM-3100/TFS 4100 - The Little Drummer Boy - Harry Simeone Chorale [1963] (11-63, #1; also charted on Christmas Charts 1963-70.) Reissue of FOX 3002/SFX 3002, with revised cover art and new title. Original 1963 pressings did not have "ORIGINAL VERSION" in yellow lettering at the top left of the jacket cover. In later pressings (see photo at right), "ORIGINAL VERSION" was added to the upper left of the jacket front. S 3100 - The Little Drummer Boy - Harry Simeone Chorale [1966] Stereo version reissued after ABC began distribution. Same stereo content as TFS 4100, but the album was re-equalized and possibly remixed to a louder and more pleasing sound. "The Little Drummer Boy," while still rechanneled, avoids the stark bass-treble separation of TFS 4100 in favor of a more ambient sound. Sing We Now of Christmas-Angels We Have Heard on High-Away in a Manger-What Child is This?-Joy to the World (S)/Go Tell it On a Mountain (S)/It Came Upon a Midnight Clear-Good King Wenceslas-We Three Kings- Villancico-Hark, The Herald Angels Sing (S)/Bring A Torch, Isabella-Lo, How a Rose E'er Blooming (S)/Deck the Halls-Christian Men Rejoice-Master's In the Hall-O Tannenbaum (S)//Sing We Now Of Christmas (Reprise)-O Holy Night (S)/The Little Drummer Boy (E)/Coventry Carol-Rise Up Shepherds- God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen-O Little Town Of Bethlehem-O Come Little Children (S)/Ding Dong-While Shepherds Watched Their Flocks By Night-The First Noel-The Friendly Beasts (S)/Silent Night-Adeste Fideles-A Christmas Greeting (S)
