Motown issued a series of albums, usually with white labels in either the 7 inch or 12 inch format to
hype upcoming releases. In addition to these special issues, white label promotional versions of the
albums were also used. In the later years, Motown used a special pinkish label for this series.

JOBETE LABEL DISCOGRAPHY
Jobete (pronounced "Jo-BET") was the name of Berry Gordy's music publishing company. The following
records are samplers of songs from the Jobete catalog. As did many publishers, Jobete issued
promotional albums such as these to encourage other artists to record their own versions of the songs
(thereby increasing Jobete's royalties). These albums were never commercially available and never
meant to be sold to the general public. Each is only portion of the total commercial song, with several
segments run together on each band on the record. The slash is between bands on the record, the
double backslash is between sides. The following list of songs explains way 50% of Jobete was worth
130+ million dollars when Berry Gordy sold it recently.
