Cameo-Parkway Label Album Discography, Part 2:
Cameo Pop 2000, 4000, and Miscellaneous Series

by Mike Callahan, David Edwards, and Patrice Eyries
Last update: April 24, 2009

Unlike the main Cameo 1000 series, which featured rock and roll and top-40 type music in addition to pop and folk, Cameo started two additional specialty series. The first, the 2000 series, was started in 1962 and featured only three albums, two by the International Pop Orchestra (billed as a "110 Man Orchestra") and a burlesque show album. This series should not be confused with a later Cameo series, started in 1966, which used the Cameo-Parkway logo.

The other specialty series was the 4000 series, also started in 1962, which was a collection of recordings done on 4-channel 35-millimeter film instead of conventional magnetic tape. The material on this series was generally pop music, even including a Bobby Rydell album, where he "recreates the days of the big bands."

Both series used the regular Cameo label that was also being used for the 1000 series at the time.
