Near the end of 1952, Columbia slightly changed their label design. The old label (far left) had "LONG PLAYING MICROGROOVE" around the bottom edge of the label. The new design (near left) dropped the "MICROGROOVE" around the bottom of the label, in favor of just "LONG PLAYING", with the Lp logo between the two words. The fine print (trade mark info) that had been at the very bottom of the label was now incorporated into the circle. Print color varied from yellow-gold, to champagne gold, to silver. |
