The labels used during 1963-1968, including all the albums on this page, were the same as had been used since 1957. The label was black with a multi-color Dot logo near the top for both mono and stereo. The mono label (far left) had silver print, while the stereo label was the same except for a "STEREOPHONIC" notation at each side of the center hole (near left). |

DLP-3523/25523 - Sukiyaka and 11 Hawaiian Hits - Billy Vaughn & His Orchestra [1963]
(6-63, #15)

Hour//My Tane/Sweet Someone/To You Sweetheart Aloha/Kalua/King's Serenade/The Moon Of

DLP-3523/25523 - Sukiyaki and 11 Hawaiian Hits - Billy Vaughn & His Orchestra [1963]

corrected their embarrassing blunder on a second press run both in the US and Canada. The reel-to-

DLP-3535/25535 - Wipe Out - Surfaris & Challengers [1963] (8-63, #15) This album is
misleading, as only the Dot single "Wipe Out"/"Surfer Joe" was actually by the Surfaris. The rest of the
album is by The Challengers, another California surf group."Wipe Out" was originally a throw-away
B-side called "Stiletto," but their manager's (Dale Smallin's) laugh at the beginning soon caused the
song's name change. The original release of "Surfer Joe" on the DFS label was longer, with two
additional verses; it was originally supposed to be the A-side. Dot edited it down for the B-side of their
Dot single release. Wipe Out - Surfaris/Wiggle Wobble - Challengers/Torquay - Challengers/You Can't
Sit Down - Challengers/Green Onions - Challengers/Tequila - Challengers//Wild Weekend -

DLP-3727/25727 - Today's Great Hits - Dora Hall [1966] Reissue of Reinbeau PRL

record labels almost exclusively for her songs (Reinbeau, Premore, Cozy). No doubt Dot got some
compensation for putting out this album, as by all accounts, she wasn't exactly a stellar singer. These
