Fabulous
was a TK subsidiary whose only album release was Leon Ware's Inside Is Love [Fabulous 8500].
A single from the album, "What's Your Name" [Fabulous 748] made #42 on the R&B charts, starting its
chart run in early December, 1979, and lasting until February, 1980. The followup single, "Inside Your
Love" [Fabulous 749], did not chart.
Leon Ware, originally from Detroit, was a singer, songwriter, and producer. He was in the Romeos, a
doo-wop group which also included famed Motown writer/producer Lamont Dozier, in the mid-1950s. In
the 1960s, he worked for Motown doing various jobs, later moving to Bell Records for a time before
setting out on his own about 1970. He wrote and produced Marvin Gaye's I Want You album for
Tamla, wrote "I Wanna Be Where You Are" for Michael Jackson, and worked with Quincy Jones on his
Body Heat album. He has worked with, written for, or produced many additional well-known
artists.
Before signing with Fabulous, Ware had released albums on United Artists, Paramount, and Motown.
After the Inside Is Love album, he released albums on Elektra, Sling Shot, Expansion, Kitchen,
Blues Interaction, and Stax.
