In the mid-1970s to early 1980s, Malcolm Jones compiled a series of high-quality reissues of the Philles catalog. The Ronettes and Christmas albums were reissued in stereo, the others mono. I asked Malcolm several years later why the various artists compilations hadn't contained the stereo versions of even the songs they had already issued in stereo. He said that the stereo was available on the other albums already issued, and that they didn't feel that they had to use stereo for that reason.
