Legend Album Discography

Last update: May 24, 2025

Legend Records was owned by Randy Bachman of the group Bachman-Turner Overdrive (BTO). Bachman signed the fellow-Canadian band Applejack to his new label, whereupon they changed their name to Trooper. Bachman continued to produce their albums until 1977, after which they signed directly with MCA.

Trooper started in 1967 as Winter's Green. Ra McGuire and Brian Smith were founding members, and the only ones who continued throughout their transformation into Trooper. Winter's Green changed their name to Applejack in the early 1970s. They were from Vancouver, British Columbia.

Of the four LPs issued on the Legend label, two (2149 and 2275) used the standard MCA label of the time (far left). The other two (2188 and 2214) used a special tan Legend label (near left).
