Arctic Records was owned by Jimmy Bishop, the program director of WDAS radio in Philadelphia. It was distributed by Jamie/Guyden of Philadelphia.

The Arctic label was light blue with black print. The label name was was in letters vertically descending down the left side of the label. Deejay pressings had the same label with a deejay overprint.
