Magic Violins Album Discography

The Magic Violins label was a subsidiary of Synthetic Plastics Company (SPC) of Newark, New Jersey. They issued thirteen albums altogether on this label with the catalog series running from 2500 to 2514. As with some other SPC labels, the number ending in "13" was not used. The albums were designated "Magic Violins, Volume X," where "X" mostly corresponded to the last digits in the catalog series. For some reason, "Volume 10" was assigned to 2500, with 2510 unissued.

Later, this series was reissued on a number of other labels related to SPC and other budget record companies, often with the same 2500 series but with prefixes for the reissue label (e.g., D/DS- or N/NS- for Diplomat).

The Magic Violins label was grey with black print, with the label name in white at the top of the label. Mono releases (far left) used just the catalog number without a prefix. Stereo releases (near left) used the SS prefix. Around the bottom of the label in white was "Magic Violins, Newark, N.J."
