After two years, Columbia finally decided to put a measure of continuity between the mono and stereo
catalog series. After assigning the number CS-8300 to the counterpart mono CL-1509, they jumped the
stereo series ahead to CS-8310 to correspond to the mono CL-1510. From that point, the last two digits
of the two series matched.
Mono albums on this page had the "six eye" label (far left). The stereo counterpart of the "six eye" label is shown at near left. The original albums on this page had the "deep groove" about a half-inch in from the label's edge. | ||
Promo issues for both mono and stereo used either a stamp on the label (far left) or a sticker on the label (near left). Both used a large rubber stamp on the back of the album jacket. |
